Panel to Examine Contributions of Black Fashion Designers at Pratt Manhattan Gallery

The Pratt Manhattan Gallery is hosting a panel discussion in conjunction with Black Dress, an exhibition that examines the creativity and business ingenuity of ten contemporary black designers. The show, which opened February 6, has already received broad press coverage in outlets like NY1, ABC, Elle Magazine, Style.com, and others. The discussion will focus on the contributions of black designers, and participants include: Walter Greene (moderator), fashion editorial director of Profiles98 and consultant to Black Dress; Michaela Angela Davis, former executive editor at Essence; Julee Wilson, style and beauty editor, The Huffington Post/Black Voices; Harriette Cole, former editor of Ebony, Essence, and Uptown; Elaine Welteroth, beauty and health director at Teen Vogue; and Adrienne Jones, Pratt Institute Fashion professor and Black Dress curator. Mannequins for Black Dress generously provided by PATINA-V and Saks Fifth Avenue.
