(B.F.A. Photography '12)
Recent graduate Stephen Spilka (B.F.A. Photography '12) has an eye for detail, which he has honed through his years of experience both as a painter and a model. His vision came through in his thesis photography project, titled “J'ai DÉJÀ VU Cela,” which he exhibited this past spring. Through his work, Spilka sought to communicate a concept of déjà vu through his use of texture and scenery, and strove to illuminate how past experience infuses the present. He says his work as a fashion model—on the other side of the lens—helped him become a better photographer.
