Resonance: Looking For Mr. McLuhan

Reporter with Borders, video still by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer.This exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the pioneering media critic Marshall McLuhan and aims to demonstrate how McLuhan's thinking still resonates with contemporary artists. Boasting work from 16 different artists, the exhibition is curated by guest curator Berta Sichel, director of the department of audiovisuals and chief-curator of film and video at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, and assistant guest curator Mariano Salvador, a filmmaker and former assistant curator in the department of audiovisual and Web coordinator, also at the Museo Nacional Centro de Art Reina Sofía.

Lecture by Artist and Filmmaker Chris Petit
In his public talk titled "From Celluloid to Digital," Chris Petit will discuss the transitions of his career over the past three decades. Petit is an internationally renowned English filmmaker and author whose prolific film career covers 35mm feature films, mainstream television, fiction, and documentary.

Designer Todd Oldham Gives Anna and Joseph Syrop Annual Lecture 

Designer Todd Oldham will talk about the legendary designer Alexander Girard, whose distinctive career is celebrated in a new monograph by Oldham and writer Kiera Coffee.  

The talk is an Anna and Joseph Syrop Lecture, part of a lecture series endowed by the Selz Foundation and featuring talks by outstanding individuals in interior design.
